SUMMARY

Union Community Health Center is a private, not-for-profit FQHC serving nearly 35,000 individual patients at six locations throughout the Bronx, NY. UCHC’s mission is to provide comprehensive, culturally competent primary and preventative health care to improve the health status and decrease health disparities of the medically underserved populations in the Bronx, providing services to all regardless of age, race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, religion, or the ability to pay.  UCHC has about 180,000 patient encounters annually almost 325 mostly unionized employees.

THE OPPORTUNITY

Union Community Health Center (UCHC) in the Bronx, NYC, seeks a strategic and mission-driven Associate VP Finance to join their leadership team.  This is a newly created position that will partner with the CFO to shape the Finance department of UCHC, and it is hoped the person assuming this position will become a future leader of the tenth largest Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) in the State of New York.

THE POSITION

Reporting to the Executive Vice President/CFO and the Chief Executive Officer, the Associate Vice President (AVP) of Finance is responsible providing financial and strategic leadership to UCHC.  With good performance this newly created position is the natural successor to the present CFO, and the hire will be made with that potentiality in mind.  Of critical importance is the new AVP Finance working closely with the CFO to reshape and change the culture of Finance at UCHC to make it more proactive, strategic, efficient, and productive.
