SUMMARY

Silver Hill Hospital is seeking a Director of Patient Access to assess, evaluate and transform the admissions process into an efficient and well-organized operation. The department includes two distinct high-volume call centers, which must coordinate seamlessly and efficiently with the admissions process.

THE OPPORTUNITY

This critical position is an opportunity for a savvy professional to lead the Patient Access initiative of a unique and highly respected behavioral health organization that is undergoing a positive transition to a culture that values accessibility and service. The Director of Patient Access is an individual who has leadership experience in a mental health setting and will be expected to lead a patient-centered, hospitality-focused department that supports patients, families, and referrers through the process of patients entering the facility. The Director role will be highly visible, and the individual will derive success through demonstrated results, excellent leadership, thoughtfulness, collaboration, energy, and initiative.  The new Director has an opportunity to design and shape the entire Admissions operations.  Most important is the opportunity to work with respected and talented individuals whose goal is to become a national model of excellence in residential behavioral health treatment.

THE POSITION

Reporting directly to the Chief Clinical Officer, the Director of Patient Access (Director) will be responsible for managing a steady flow of patients entering the hospital that matches the availability of services at all levels of treatment (inpatient, residential, and outpatient). S/he will lead the admissions clinicians, the Admissions physicians and the call centers. The Director will have a significant amount of interface across the organization, working with psychiatry, nursing, social work, psychology discipline directors as well as leadership within business development, IT, finance, marketing/communications, quality improvement, patient experience and accreditation. S/he will re-evaluate patient admission ratios through internal and external information on market dynamics and patient demand. The Director will also create a dynamic and pro-active organizational culture in a rapidly evolving market. providing ample opportunities for growth through education and training initiatives.
