The School is a 100% boarding community with 450 students from 26 states and 19 countries.
THE OPPORTUNITY
Episcopal High School, a boarding school in Alexandria, Virginia seeks a Medical Director to lead in re-envisioning health and wellness for young people in the context of a student-centric campus environment. The Medical Director will oversee clinical operations and health and safety initiatives and create holistic programming for a state-of-the-art Health and Wellness Center scheduled to be completed in 2022. The construction of the Health and Wellness Center fulfills one of the essential goals of the School’s 2018 Strategic Plan: to best support students’ physical and emotional well-being and bring enhanced health and wellness programming to life.
THE POSITION
Reporting to the Assistant Head for Student Life, the Medical Director will work closely with the School’s leadership team to support the health and well-being of the students. The Medical Director is responsible for directing the administrative functions of the Health Center and its staff in a manner that assures the delivery of high-quality medical care to the students and is responsible for providing medical care to the students and making recommendations for treatment outside the health center. The Medical Director will work collaboratively with students, parents, faculty, staff and community-based health care providers to assure the medical needs of the students are met. The Medical Director will also oversee all facets of the Health Center including counseling, nurses, trainers, and outside medical consultants.
Clinical staff of the Health Center include a Director of Health Services, an office manager, and eight nurses for a total of 11.5 FTE.
