SUMMARY

This is an opportunity for the Chief of Staff to partner with the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and members of the senior leadership team to shape and grow a $35 million human services organization that is in a strong financial position and serves over 4,300 individuals in five states. Based in Springfield, MA, Viability Inc. is a mission-driven, not-for-profit organization serving over 4,000 people with disabilities with a wide range of support services. Spanning five states: MA, RI, OK, CT and NY, Viability offers a network of services connecting individual strengths and goals with skill building and job opportunities. The new Chief of Staff will be part of a small senior leadership team and will assume a key role in supporting the CEO in leading the organization both strategically and operationally. They will possess prior experience in partnering with a senior executive and have the maturity to work alongside and collaborate with a small senior leadership team who is passionate and mission driven.

THE POSITION

Reporting to the President and CEO, the Chief of Staff will augment the work of the Executive Team to increase the capacity of Viability to grow and innovate, as well as maximizing the existing capabilities of the organization to support its goals, growth and continued success for mission delivery and impact. The Chief of Staff will support and advance strategic and operational business initiatives, from development through successful execution and in collaboration with executive leadership. They will promote and support organizational alignment to ensure optimal outcomes. Most importantly, their role will be to work closely with the CEO to grow and maintain external presence, while serving as a thought partner to identify and drive agency opportunities and areas of improvement. The successful Chief of Staff must promote and expand Viability’s business opportunities, visibility, and reputation. They will advance the use and mission impact of data organizationally and drive and support on-going internal communications and relationships.
