SUMMARY

Harvard Street Neighborhood Health Center (HSNHC), first opened for business in 1969 at 895 Blue Hill Avenue as part of the Boston Department of Health and Hospitals. In 1976 HSNHC became an independent not-for-profit organization and relocated its main office to 632 Blue Hill Avenue. HSNHC was designated as a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) look-a-like health center in 1992 and achieved full FQHC status from HRSA in 2015. HSNHC continues to provide a comprehensive system of care that is responsive to their community’s health care needs.

THE OPPORTUNITY

Harvard Street Neighborhood Health Center (HSNHC) is seeking a Medical Director to lead the organization’s clinical function. 

This is a opportunity for a credible Medical leader to join a respected health organization serving a vibrant Boston community through the rapidly changing health care landscape. Featuring a strong, dedicated management team, the Harvard Street Neighborhood Health Center is in strong financial position and poised for growth, embodied in their hope to build a new facility.  Candidates not yet having medical leadership experience but seeking to move their career into medical leadership will be considered.

THE POSITION

The Medical Director will be the senior medical leader of the Harvard Street Neighborhood Health Center and will report directly to the Chief Executive Officer. This position requires center-wide leadership, and in coordination with all medical providers and the Senior Leadership Team, particularly with the Director of Nursing and practice manager, the Medical Director will work to establish and execute a shared clinical vision for integrated service delivery and improve upon the patient centered medical home model that is in place. In addition, the Medical Director will promote policies related to PCMH and health equity, improve quality of care and measurements, and align care delivery with new and emerging payment models including accountable care structures and new Medicaid initiatives.
