The Medical Director, Pediatrics is responsible for supporting the Chief of Medicine in improving quality and operational efficiencies for the pediatrics department. This includes support in recruiting, retaining, organizing, and managing the pediatric department and its practitioners. The Medical Director, Pediatrics will provide clinical oversight and guidance, to ensure that consistently high-quality care is provided to all CS-HHC patients. He/she must be committed to the concept of community health care, must enable and encourage the interdisciplinary and integrated care team concept as an integral element of the provision of high quality, responsive community health services. The Medical Director, Pediatrics must be prepared to mentor providers and to impart knowledge that enables clinically competent, culturally sensitive and customer service oriented efficient care. The Medical Director, Pediatrics will assist the Chief of Medicine in setting and attaining care protocols and goals that promote clinical excellence and productivity in ways that are responsive to and respectful of patient and provider needs as well as those of other staff.

The next Medical Director, Pediatrics will have a Medical Degree from an accredited school, have board certification/eligibility in a primary care discipline (e.g., Pediatrics, Family Practice, and Medicine/Pediatrics), a valid unrestricted state license, valid unrestricted DEA certification, familiarity with managed care protocols, PCMH requirements, and electronic medical record. S/he will have ambulatory care, supervisory, and administrative experience. The new leader must be dedicated to the provision of high-quality services to the community served by CS-HHC. He/she will demonstrate a keen understanding of the health care industry in general and specifically of federally qualified health center operations.
