Research has shown that patient experiences of communication and care coordination are related to clinical outcomes. This relationship is independent of clinical performance measures. Yet, even with the importance of these data, our ability to learn from our patients greatly lags feedback loops in other industries. We lack understanding of how to provide meaningful feedback to front line clinical personnel and management to effect meaningful change in our organizations.
