This Webinar will focus on the outcomes of a real-world study conducted at the University of Chicago designed to test the effect of a resource referral intervention on patient mental and physical health-related quality of life and self-efficacy for finding health-promoting resources in their communities. Our speaker, Dr. Stacy Tessler Lindau, will also review lessons learned about conducting a pragmatic trial for population health promotion interventions.
Stacy Tessler Lindau MD is a tenured professor and practicing physician at the University of Chicago. Her work and interdisciplinary lab focus on developing solutions to injustice with the patients and communities they serve. She is also the founder and chief innovation officer of NowPow, LLC, a mission-driven IT company, and president of MAPSCorps, a youth-centered community asset mapping and STEM workforce development organization. Catalyzed by a 2012-2015 Health Care Innovation Award from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, these organizations close the information gap about vital community resources while creating meaningful jobs, especially for youth. ne at the University of Chicago Medicine, which seeks to preserve sexual function in women affected by cancer. She is director of WomanLab.org, a virtual platform to promote preservation and recovery of female sexual function after cancer and across the life span and she was founding chair of the Scientific Network on Female Sexual Health and Cancer. Stacy was a Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Clinical Scholar at the University of Chicago (’02) and served the program’s National Advisory Committee. She is a Fellow of the second class of the Aspen Institute Health Innovators Fellowship and serves its Board of Overseers. She is also a member of the Aspen Global Leadership Network. She earned degrees from the University of Michigan Honors College (BA), Brown University School of Medicine (MD) and the University of Chicago Harris School of Public Policy Studies (MAPP).
